The Town Crier We Care Appeal is aiming to raise £10,000 for Huntingdonshire's Young Carers, and as part of the campaign are holding a charity dance on Saturday, March 1, at the Priory Centre, St Neots.
Plans for the 50s and 60s dance with Vegas style Elvis tribute are well underway - thanks to outstanding generosity of performers Peter Day and Fiona McLean of Musical Tributes - and the Priory Centre which offered to host the night.
Tickets are £10 each and can be booked from
www.musical-tributes.com or by sending a cheque payable to "The Town Crier We Care Appeal" to Charity Dance, Town Crier, Priory House, Priory Lane, St Neots, PE19 2BH. Alternatively you can purchase tickets from the Town Crier office and some will be available on the night.
As part of the enjoyable evening we are also holding a raffle, and are appealing to generous residents and businesses to donate prizes.
Fiona, of Dukes Road, Eaton Socon, offered her services for the dance as she is a carer herself, looking after her 26-year-old son Ben who has muscular dystrophy.
She said: "It's time to order your tickets for the We Care charity dance. We need as many people at the event as possible.
"Let's raise lots of money for this great cause. Help the young carers to have some enjoyment in their lives."
The duo perform tribute songs from Connie Francis, Dusty Springfield, Cliff Richard, Buddy Holly, Billy Fury, plus many more artists. Peter will also perform his fabulous Elvis Tribute - The Vegas Era.
Town Crier editor Matt Cornish said: "Peter and Fiona sing in clubs all around East Anglia. They have great fun with audiences as well as providing high quality music to dance to, or just for listening.
"We are grateful to all the support Huntingdonshire's residents have shown our campaign, but let's not stop here. Let's reach our target soon."
