Entertainers offer to sing for our appeal - we just need a venue

A singer has offered to put on a show to raise money for the Town Crier's We Care Appeal but there's just one problem – she needs a venue.
As part of our bid to raise £10,000 for Huntingdonshire's Young Carers project, local performer Fiona McLean has offered to stage a performance of her show Musical Tribute to help raise cash.
But without a venue the fund-raising event will not be able to go ahead. So the Town Crier is pleading for anyone with a local venue which could be used for free to come forward.
Fiona, of Dukes Road, Eaton Socon, decided to help the campaign to raise money for the project, which offers support and respite activities for children in Huntingdonshire who care for ill family members, as she is a carer herself.
Fiona, who cares for 26-year-old son Ben who has muscular dystrophy, said: "My son is disabled and I have spent years looking after him, so obviously I know what it's like to be a carer.
"In the last few months I have seen a lot about the young carers and I was thinking the poor little things, they are doing it the other way round.
"It must be dreadful for them and I was thinking I would really like to do something to help."
The show, presented by Fiona and partner Peter Day, is a musical tribute to sounds of the 50s and 60s and includes songs from Dusty Springfield, Connie Francis, Cliff Richard, Buddy Holly – and even Elvis.
>> If you have a venue that could be used for the event free of charge contact Hazel Slade at the Town Crier on 01480 402133 or email her to hazel.slade@jpress.co.uk
