Post offices listed for closure
Details of which Post Offices are to close have been leaked before Tuesday's announcement.
Sources have told the Town Crier that Great Stukeley, Ramsey St Mary's, Catworth, Earith, Holme and Great Gidding near Sawtry, are all likely to be closed or lose some services.
One source said that Great Stukeley Post Office, which currently opens for 41 hours with up to 200 transactions a week, will fully close.
Catworth Post Office, which also has up to 200 transactions a week, will be closed and replaced with a mobile service for five hours a week.
And Great Gransden Post Office, which has up to 400 transactions a week, will close with a new facility opened in the village shop.
The other Post Offices are also likely to be served by mobile facilities or merged with existing businesses.
The closures are part of 2,500 branches nationally due to be shut down over the next two years.
