Good leadership and management has ensured high standards at Priory Park Infants School in St Neots, according to Government inspectors.
Ofsted praised the school for providing a positive, caring and stimulating environment in which children thrive and are happy.

The report reads: "This is a good school which gives good value for money. On stepping inside the building it is clear that everyone is committed to ensuring children are happy and receive good care and guidance.

"It is no surprise that most parents are supportive of the school. Children behave well and their enjoyment of the school is in no doubt. This is reflected in their good attendance and punctuality."

Inspectors found the pupils considerate and polite. Good teaching, based on positive relationships and a good enriched curriculum, ensure pupils are keen to learn, work hard and do well.

The report has assessed all key inspection grades as being 'good' with children making good progress in the reception classes, entering Year 1 having achieved the standards expected for their age.

Inspectors point out a few areas where improvements could be made, such as ensuring planning is focused more on the activity rather than what children need to learn from it.

Acting headteacher Tim Rogers said: "It is a very good report indeed and we are absolutely delighted with the result. It is all down to the excellent staff who work so hard ensuring our children are taught in a happy and productive environment."
