Tyres were slashed, cars were "keyed" and vehicle doors were kicked-in during one night of vehicle attacks in St Neots.
Police received reports of at least 12 acts of vandalism on vehicles parked outside their owners' homes.
The incidents took place last Thursday night, mainly in the Eaton Socon area of the town.

Police say the amount of incidents were unusual and that the weekend, by relation, was quiet in terms of the crime.
Sector inspector for the St Neots area Mark Woolner said: "There are some common sense things people can do to help prevent this type of crime.

"If you have a garage, use it. If you have to park your vehicle on the street, make sure wing mirrors are tucked away and aerials are pushed down.
"It is always a good idea to park in well lit places if possible.
"Unfortunately it can take one drunken individual or group of people to cause a lot of damage."

He also urged people not to leave valuables in their vehicles as some damage to cars and vans occurs when crooks attempt to break in to pinch goodies left on display.
One car which was targeted was a Nissan MIcra which was parked in Beatty Road, Eaton Socon. Hooligans scratched a diagonal line across its bonnet with a sharp object.

A Volkswagen Beetle parked in Nelson Road, Eaton Socon, was also "keyed" down its full length, much to its owner's horror, as was a Nissan Almera which was parked in the same road.
A Peugeot 206 parked in Field In Cottage Road was also targeted by yobs, while in Crown Walk a group of youths were spotted kicking dents in the side of a Ford Probe. In Priory Mews another vehicle had all four of its tyres slashed.

In Codrington Court, Eaton Socon, three vehicles were damaged - one had its tyre slashed while another had its car paint work damaged. The third sustained what has been described as "damage".
In Blakes Way a line was scratched across the front of a BMW.
Insp Woolner said police patrols had been stepped up during the weekends in a bid to deter would-be vandals and let them know officers are about.

The incidents took place between 6.30pm and 11.10pm. If you witnessed any of them, or have information that will assist police with their enquiries, call Cambridgeshire Police on 0845 456 4564 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

>> Last month a total of 43 crimes of "vehicle interference" were reported across Cambridgeshire, a reduction on the 65 recorded in July.
To date this type of crime is down in the county, with 268 incidents being reported from April until the end of August this year compared to 450 in the same period last year.
