Woman seriously injured after being hit by van

An elderly woman suffered serious injuries following a collision in St Ives yesterday (Wednesday March 26).
The collision happened at around midday at Cromwell Place near the junction with The Quadrant when a blue Renault van and a pedestrian collided.

The pedestrian, a 78-year-old woman from St Ives, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital where she is described as stable.

The van driver, a 36-year-old man from Somersham, was uninjured.

PC Doug Howell said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to the collision to get in touch."
