Lorry accidents cause A14 delays
May 13, 4pm: The A14 is now clear after two accidents involving lorries earlier today.
May 13, 1pm: The A14 is currently closed eastbound at Swavesey while a 44 tonne lorry involved in an earlier accident is recovered.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in custody at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.
Two vehicles involved in a second accident, which happend at just before 10am, have moved their vehicles off the road to a service station and the eastbound carriageway at Fenstanton was clear by 11am.
There are no reports of injuries in either crash.
12.15pm: Lorry accidents cause problems on A14
Traffic is heavy on the A14 after two accidents between lorries and cars.
Both incidents occurred on the eastbound carriageway, the first at around 9.30am near the Swavesey junction.
Lane one was closed while the accident involving a 44-tonne HGV fully laden with steel rods was cleared up.
The second incident, also involving a collision between a lorry and a car, was near Fenstanton just before 10am.
The police have no reports of anyone being injured in either crash.
