Walford Square's workshy mechanic Garry Hobbs is set to make a guest appearance at the annual open day at St Neots Fire Station on Saturday.
The Eastenders character, played by actor Ricky Groves, lives in the area and will be at the event in Huntingdon Street, St Neots, which runs from 11am to 4pm.

Admission is free and there will be lots of things to do for all the family, including a 'Dunk the Firefighter' event featuring station manager Gary Mitchley.

There will also be a barbecue, face painting, a children's entertainer,
balloon making, bouncy castle, cake stall, various fire appliances, a miniature traction engine ride and a fat fryer demonstration unit which will show how dangerous it is to put water on a fire containing hot oils or fats.

Visitors will also have the chance to book a free home fire safety check.

Mr Mitchley said: "This is a community fire station and we are well established in the town.

"As firefighters, we try very hard to make sure that residents feel comfortable approaching us in the street with any fire safety queries that they have and we always try to make people feel welcome at our station.

"We try to hold as many events for the local community as we can. In the past six months we have held a motorbike safety day, a safety zone for local schoolchildren and we have also taken part in the annual St Neots Fire Engine Pull.

"The open day is our main event of the year and we hope as many residents as possible will come and have a look round and find out more about the fire safety, the fire service, the firefighters and the station itself."
