A brand new farmers' market opens for business in Cambourne on Good Friday.
The county's newest farmers' market opens in Cambourne on Good Friday.

Cambourne Farmers' Market will be held at The Hub, High Street, Cambourne on Friday (March 21) from 3pm to 7pm.

Easter holiday visitors can enjoy some truly local shopping when up to 20 local producers will set out their stalls selling everything from cabbages to cake and soup to soap.

Many people will be familiar with the concept of a farmers' market.

It gives producers the chance to sell their own goods direct to the public and conversely offers the public an opportunity to ask any questions of the person who has grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed whatever it is he is selling.

There are low food miles at a farmers' market, one of the benefits of the popular scheme.

The market is being organised by local producers Simply Herbs of Southoe in association with Cambourne Parish Council.

Further markets will be held on the third Friday of every month throughout the summer.
