A former cancer patient is going that extra mile to see the Eiffel Tower – by hopping on her bike and cycling to Paris for charity.
Corinne Henson, 35, of Eagle Court, St Neots, will by riding 292 miles (470 kilometres) from the big smoke to the French capital to support the charity which helped her – Macmillan Cancer Support.

The mother-of-two has had three operations in her battle for life after being diagnosed with cancer of the womb lining in December 2006.
Now given the all clear, Corinne decided to take on the Parisian adventure in a bid to support other people diagnosed with the disease.

Corinne, who lives with husband Rob and children Toby, seven and Jasmine, five, said: "I just decided I needed to do something to help the charity that helped me out.

"I have always ridden a bike, but not any great distance, so this is the first time I have ridden a long way."

Corinne has already raised £1,100 of the £1,200 required for the five-day-challenge in August, which takes place in four stages.

Setting off from London, the first day sees the 40-rider group travel 95 miles (153km) to Dover, where they will cross to France by ferry.
On day two Corinne will be riding 74.5 miles (120km) to Abbeville, then day three is 68 miles (110km) from Abbeville to Beauvais and on day four the group will ride the final 58.5 miles (94km) to Paris, finishing under the world-famous Eiffel Tower.

Corinne has managed to fit in training three times a week while also working as a lunchtime supervisor at Priory Junior School.

>> More than one in three people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime and more than a million people are currently living with cancer.
Macmillan Cancer Support is a UK charity providing the expert care and emotional support which is changing the lives of people living with cancer today.
