Wood Green Animal Shelters are desperately asking for information about a dog found in a 'terrible condition' outside their Cambridgeshire Shelter.
The dog named Todd by staff was found by two members of the public as they were heading towards the Godmanchester shelter in their car.

They stopped as soon as they saw Todd and he ran over to them where they then found that he had baler twine tied around his neck.

The couple took Todd into the animal shelter where he was quickly checked by staff.

Although he is quite underweight and his fur is extremely matted he appears to be very friendly.

Staff believe he is approximately three years old and is a lurcher type possibly crossed with an Afghan hound.

Head of Animal Welfare at Wood Green Animal Shelters Shelley Wooding said: "Todd is a very lucky boy to have been found.

"We desperately need to find someone with information about Todd so that we can start treating him for any medical problems that he may have and also to sort out his coat which is in a terrible condition with most of it needing to be clipped off as it is so matted.

"We are presuming that he was tied up somewhere by the string and has chewed through it which is how he came to be near the road.

"Todd was extremely lucky that he wasn't involved in a road traffic accident, but thanks to the kind and prompt action of the public he is safely in our care."
