Sinfonia presents works of passion from three composers
A concert of beautiful and lyrical music from three composers, all well known for their passion, will entertain an audience in Huntingdon next week.
Part of the Hinchingbrooke spring music season, the concert is designed to appeal to all ages.
The evening will bring the works of Weber, Beethoven and Mahler together for one night when Sinfonia ViVA return to Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre on Friday (March 28) at 7.30pm.
Weber's Clarinet Quintet in B flat is a delightful and well-known virtuoso piece which leads to a dazzling finale, clearly designed to bring the house down.
The four short songs in Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer are believed to have been inspired by an unhappy affair and is a moving tale of lost love.
When it comes to passion, however, there is no-one quite like Beethoven.
Written when Beethoven was already beginning to go deaf, the septet has a mixture of grandeur and intimacy, virtuosity and informality that has appealed to thousands of people across the generations. Sinfonia ViVA's musicians are joined by mezzo-soprano soloist Claire Bradshaw, and directed by Benedict Holland.
They will bring to life these wonderful works, in a concert which is suitable for anyone who loves music, including children and young people who may be learning an instrument themselves.
