Bikers are being encouraged have a pedal along two national cycle routes this weekend.
The ride along National Cycle Routes 12 and 51 from St Neots to Huntingdon is being organised by sustainable transport charity, Sustrans.

Sustrans volunteers have been out and about recently ensuring that the route is well signed and maintained. Now they want to introduce it to more users.

Volunteer John Mouatt, said: "Everybody is invited to join us on this ride, but please ensure that you are competent cyclists and your bikes are roadworthy and suitable for going off-road, as some of the tracks between Hail Weston and Grafham Water are a little rough in places."

The guide ride is unlikely to last the full 30-mile round trip on the first day, but the organisers have said that if it's a success they will be looking to organise more.

The ride starts at Riverside car park in St Neots at 2pm on Sunday (May 11). Riders are asked to arrive at 1.30pm to register and to take refreshments and suitable clothing. Children under 16 must be with an adult and the route is not suitable for under 10.

>> If you would like to join the ride, email John Mouatt at john.mouatt@ntlworld.com or phone him on 07731 777702 and give your name and details of who will be joining the ride.

A brief guide to the route between St Neots and Huntingdon is also available.
