Six Post Offices in Huntingdonshire will close, it was officially confirmed today (Wednesday, September 17).

Six Post Offices in Huntingdonshire will close, it was officially confirmed today (Wednesday, September 17).

Despite passionate protests from local residents, offices at Great Stukeley, Catworth, Great Gidding, Holme, Ramsey St Mary, and Earith will face the chop following Royal Mail's nationwide review of the postal service.

Laura Tarling, Post Office Ltd's Network Development Manager for Cambridgeshire said: "These are difficult decisions which have not been taken lightly, and we have considered very carefully all the comments made during the public consultation."

According to a statement released by the Royal Mail Group, the changes are expected to come into effect by the end of the year.
