The Richmond Fellowship recycling team are urging recyclers in Huntingdonshire to support the centre's aluminium drinks can and foil collections.

Not only will recyclers be helping the local recycling group raise funds for the centre, but will be helping to plant fruit trees in Malawi through the "Recycle for Africa" campaign.

The recycling team based at Huntingdonshire Regional College, California Road, Huntingdon, launched the "Recycle for Africa" aluminium cans and foil collection at Sealed Air Ltd in Marston Road,
St Neots on Monday, June 9.

The company have been recycling with the centre for some time and are happy that they are supporting a local recycling group and contributing to planting trees in Malawi, through the "Recycle for Africa" campaign.

The "Recycle for Africa" campaign run by Alupro, working with a British based Charity Ripple Africa, will plant a fruit tree in Malawi for every tonne of aluminium drinks cans and foil recycled in the UK over the next two years.

The programme will also fund the management of the programme making sure the fruit trees (orange, lemon, mangoes, guava) planted in the 135 nurseries, mature and provide a basis for small community businesses in Malawi.
