The Paralympic handover from Beijing to London will be celebrated in Huntingdon today.
The Paralympic handover from Beijing to London 2012 will be celebrated with a multi-sports day at Spring Common School, Huntingdon today (Wednesday, September 17).

The day will involve around 80 students from Spring Common and Samuel Pepys School in St Neots participating in a number of activities based on Olympic sports.

The event will be opened by the raising of a flag at 9.45am by the chairman of Huntingdonshire District Council Cllr John Davies and Richard Martin, an elite level gymnast from Huntingdon Gymnastics Club.

Sports development officer David Reeve said: "We are very pleased to be working with both Spring Common and Samuel Pepys Schools' to support the Paralympic Games handover.

"Following the success of the GB team at the Beijing Paralympics, London 2012 can't come soon enough."
