It's medal time after Olympic summer reading sessions keep thousands booked up

There were medals all round at Huntingdon Library when Olympic gymnast Louis Smith was booked to call in.
The event was the culmination of a summer reading challenge – Team Read – run for children throughout the county.
About 7,000 youngsters took up the challenge during the scheme, and last Friday's special day saw the first of more than 5,000 of them rewarded for their marathon reading session by finishing six books.
Medals and certificates will be presented at a number of events held in libraries in the next few weeks – with Olympic hero Louis dropping into the very first one.
The scheme has been organised by the county council libraries service.
Children's library services manager Richard Young said: "It was a great way of keeping children reading during the summer. They had lots of fun reading and sharing books and also had an opportunity to talk to staff at our libraries about the books they had read and the most popular titles.
"I am delighted that so many of them rose to the challenge of reading at least six books and that their efforts will now be recognised when they are presented with a medal and certificate."
In addition to hosting Team Read, libraries offered a wide range of events and activities over the summer including visits by authors Gillian McClure, Ian Whybrow and David Chandler, storytelling sessions with the Cambridge Storytellers and Andy Hawkins, magic shows, visits from The Raptor Centre and The Reptile Experience and a host of book-based craft activities.
