Police are appealing for witnesses after two men stole groceries from the Co-op at Green End Road, Sawtry.
The men placed the items in a large holdall and left the store without paying at around 11.30am on Tuesday, April 15.

The first offender is described as black, stocky, 5ft 6in with short black hair. He was wearing jeans, trainers and a dark top. The second offender is described as white, 5ft 8in, balding with some stubble on his face. He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket.

After leaving the store the men were followed by staff.

The first man ran up Aversley Road and into a field and discarded the holdall in a bush.

The second man ran off around the back of the store.

PC Allison Hillier, investigating, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at this time and seen these men, either in the store or running away.

"We would also ask anyone who recognises the descriptions of these men to get in touch."

>> Anyone with information can contact PC Hillier at Yaxley Police Station on 0845 456 456 4 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
